Ford answers with American muscle
Who doesn’t love the sight of an American muscle car lighting up its tires in a furious display of smoking power?
The 2011 model year delivers a Ford Mustang that is as capable as it is efficient. Comfortable, fuel-conscious and still encased in that timeless Mustang design, the 2011 Ford Mustang is a car that is able to produce 305HP and still deliver 31 MPG on the highway and 19 MPG in the city with its automatic transmission. 2010 saw the Ford Mustang upgraded with comprehensive redesigns to its styling, brakes and suspension. This year, Ford has focused on its powertrains, creating a muscle car that can produce a 5.3 second time from 0 to 60 with rollout, but still keep you passing gas stations far longer than you’d expect.
Part of the credit goes to the 2011 Mustang’s new engines. The V6 is a 3.7 liter that uses variable inlet and exhaust valve timing to achieve its huge HP and torque numbers. The V8 variant found in the 2011 Mustang GT trim level, a 5.0 liter Coyote, uses that same tech to produce 412HP and 390 lbs-ft of torque, and still manages to offer a generous 26MPG highway / 17 MPG City. Further updates to the brakes and suspension also make the Mustang more thrilling to drive, with a stronger success in sport handling than the previous incarnations.
These numbers and updates currently make the Mustang the returning king of the muscle cars, kicking the Chevy Camaro to the curb by beating it in the 0-60 category and in the “fun to drive” category. Not only that, but the new 2011 Ford Mustang is also far more versatile than its longtime Camaro competitor, giving us a trunk that is far more roomy and rear- and side-windows you can actually see out of, some things the current Camaro lacks.

Ford returns to glory in the sport performance class with the 2011 Ford Mustang and 2011 Ford Mustang GT. They have designed a high-performance muscle car that can yield you 29 miles to the gallon. Athletic, efficient and comfortable, the 2011 Mustangs are sporty cars you can drive hard but still use as a viable form of efficient, day-today transportation. And for the price, it is a remarkable performance bargain.
