Double-Wishbone Front Suspension
Fusion features the "double-wishbone" independent
front suspension with stabilizer bars. With the shock absorber
and coil spring mounted to two parallel wishbone-shaped arms, the
system can be engineered to carefully control wheel motion
throughout suspension travel, helping to keep chassis motion and
body roll to a minimum. The double-wishbone design is commonly
found in sports and luxury cars. Multi-Link Rear Suspension Ford
engineers made the best use of the "multi-link"
independent rear suspension's design flexibility to give
Fusion excellent ride quality and handling capability. Each wheel
operates independently of the other to isolate rough road
conditions, resulting in ride comfort and vehicle control
you'd expect in more expensive cars.

Available Moon & Tune Package
The new available Moon & Tune Package combines two great
features to make traveling in a Ford Fusion more enjoyable for
everyone. Included in the package are the power moonroof plus the
high-fidelity Audiophile® Sound System with in-dash 6-disc CD
changer, MP3 capability and eight premium speakers.
Dual-Tipped Exhaust
Fusion's chrome decklid brow molding and sporty dual
chrome-tipped exhausts are available on the Fusion V6 SEL model.
They're available on the Fusion V6 SE with the new available
Sport Appearance Package. (NOTE: the chrome-tipped exhausts are
only available on the V6 SE with the new available Sport
Appearance Package. The brow molding is bodycolor on the SE

and air flow design. The beauty of Fusion's aerodynamic shape

sculpted rear. A decklid spoiler is available to add a sporty and

Impressive Fuel Economy
The 2.3L 16-valve Duratec I4 is engineered with four valves per
cylinder, activated by dual overhead camshafts with advanced
variable cam timing (iVCT) technology. This design increases
engine breathing and boosts power output. The 2.3L Duratec with
five-speed manual transmission delivers not only an impressive
160-hp rating, but also excellent fuel economy estimates of 20

Six Standard Airbags
When it comes to passive safety protection, Ford Fusion has you
well covered. In addition to the front driver and front-seat
passenger airbags, every 2008 Fusion comes with standard
front-seat side-impact airbags as well as 1st- and 2nd-row
side-curtain airbags, That's a total of six airbags to
enhance protection in certain front or side impacts. *Always wear
your safety belt and secure children in the rear seat. Standard Personal Safety System
Fusion's Personal Safety System® uses an electronic crash
severity sensor, a restraint control module, a driver's seat
position sensor, dual-stage font airbags*, front-passenger
sensing system, safety-belt pretensioners, safety belt
energy-management retractors and front outboard safety-belt usage
sensors to help protect the driver and front-seat passenger in
certain frontal collisions. Its pretensioners tighten the front
safety belts during the first moments of a crash, and
energy-management retractors gradually slacken them when
necessary to help reduce the force of the belt on the
occupant's chest. *The best line of defense in crashes
remains the safety belt. Always wear your safety belt and secure

Fusion's unibody construction with energy-absorbing design

Optional Voice-activated DVD-based Navigation System
The optional voice-activated DVD-based Navigation System,
available on Fusion SEL, has a 6.5" color LCD monitor
displaying maps and menus. It pinpoints where you are and even
provides turn-by-turn directions. There are more than 20
different functions, many of which can be voice-prompted.
Standard MP3 audio Input Jack
Equipped with a high-fidelity MP3-capable sound system, Ford
Fusion sounds every bit as dynamic as it looks. Every Fusion
comes with a standard MP3 audio input jack that lets you channel
tracks from your MP3 player through the car's speakers. 2008
Fusion SE and SEL models offer an optional color-configurable
interior ambient lighting system.* It lets the driver or
front-seat passenger change the light inside the cupholders and
in the front and rear footwells. Choose from a palette of seven
colors (red, orange, blue, indigo, violet, green and yellow) with
a touch of the button and the floor console.
