Federal Tax Credit
If you meet the requirements, you may qualify for a federal
income tax credit of $3,000 on the purchase of a new Ford Escape
Hybrid FWD, and $2,200 on a Hybrid 4WD. That's a credit, not
a deduction. Your tax obligation may be reduced by the award

The seats in Escape Hybrid's innovative earth-friendly
seat fabric made from 100% post-industrial waste plastics and
polyester fibers that would have ended up in landfills otherwise.

Technology
No-Compromise Hybrid
Escape Hybrid has it all. It's the first vehicle to
combine SUV capability with the outstanding fuel economy and low
environmental impact of a full hybrid. The no compromise Escape
Hybrid drives normally, performs superbly and offers all the
features you'd expect from an SUV leader. Roomy, comfortable
seating for five, a versatile cargo area, and an optional
Intelligent 4WD System which offers the same all-weather traction
and off-road capability available in traditional Escape
models.
Nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) battery
Escape Hybrid's innovative nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH)
battery is completely sealed and securely encased. It's
stored neatly at the flat load floor of the spacious cargo area.
What's more, the regenerative braking system recharges the
NiMH battery each time you brake, so there is never any need to
plug it in.
Regenerative Braking
In a conventional vehicle when you brake, the energy is lost
as heat. During braking in the Escape Hybrid, the electric motor
captures this energy that is normally lost and sends it back to
the battery pack to be stored for later use. Whenever you apply
the brakes, you are, in effect, recharging the battery pack.
Engineers call this regenerative braking and it represents a
major part of the Escape Hybrid's fuel efficiency advantage
over conventional vehicles.
Satellite Radio
Escape Hybrid's available Moonroof & Satellite Radio
Package includes a power moonroof and SIRIUS® Satellite Radio
with a 6-month subscription. SIRUS® satellite radio delivers
more than 130 channels for music, news, sports and entertainment.

Audio Input Jack
All Escape sound systems are equipped with an audio input jack
for use with MP3 players and other portable sound systems.
Hybrid Energy/Navigation/Audiophile System
The Escape Hybrid's optional Hybrid
Energy/Navigation/Audiophile System allows you to track the
powertrain's 3 main modes of operation (Hybrid Drive,
Electric Drive and Idle Charging); find your way to destinations
near and far; and jam out in 320-watt audio bliss.
Capability
V6-like Acceleration
The electric motor is capable of propelling Escape Hybrid up
to 25 mph on its own. But when extra power is needed - such as
when accelerating or passing - it combines with the gasoline
engine for maximum performance. The end result is V6-like
acceleration and a sporty 155 horsepower.*

4WD Capability
Although 34 mpg/city* gives you plenty of reason to enjoy
urban landscapes, you can also head off-road with confidence. The
available Intelligent 4WD System lets you take on rough roads and

When it comes to warranty, Escape Hybrid has you covered - and
then some. In addition to the standard 3 year/36,000 mile limited
bumper-to-bumper plan, Escape Hybrid comes with an extended 8
year/100,000 mile limited warranty covering Hybrid components,
bringing you solid peace of mind for the road ahead.*

mile limited warranty are: High voltage battery (non-California
emissions states) eCVT and DC/DC Converter. 10 year/150,000 mile
limited hybrid battery warranty in CA, ME, MA, NY and VT.
Safety Features
Escape Hybrid is equipped with a whole host of standard safety
features to help keep you and your passengers protected in the
event of an accident. The Safety Canopy™ System (with
rollover sensor and side curtain airbags) and front seat
side-mounted airbags provide increased impact and rollover
protection. The innovative Personal Safety System® uses a
network of sophisticated sensors to enhance protection for the
driver and front passenger by customizing the deployment of the
dual-stage driver and single-stage front-passenger airbags.
Versatility
Center Console
Escape Hybrid's versatility can be appreciated down to the
smallest details. The redesigned floor console features a 3-tier
storage system with 2 removable bins. A bottom, hidden storage
level is even large enough for a laptop computer or purse.
Roof Rack
Escape Hybrid is built for full-on function from the top down,
literally. When you need more space, Escape can carry up to 100
lbs. of cargo on top with its roof rack. If you want to add
roof-rail crossbars, they're available in the optional Hybrid
Premium Package.
Cargo Space
Don't let the "small SUV" category fool you.
There's plenty of space inside. Escape Hybrid offers roomy,
comfortable seating for five, plus a versatile cargo area. You
can access storage space behind the rear seat by simply flipping
up the rear liftglass, or you can raise the liftgate. Behind the
standard 60/40 split-folding second row seats is 27.8 cu. ft. of
cargo space. Use the tip-fold-flat latches to fold rear seats
down and load up 66.0 cu. ft. cargo.
Moonroof
The optional power moonroof is available as part of the Hybrid
Moonroof & Satellite Package which includes the moonroof and
SIRIUS® satellite radio with a complimentary 6-month
SIRIUS® subscription. Not available in Alaska and Hawaii. See
