per cylinder and advanced variable cam timing technology. It
cranks out an awesome 292 hp and 300 lb.-ft. of torque.
6-Speed Transmission
The 4.6L V8's 6-speed automatic transmission has a wide
span of gear ratios across the six speeds, providing responsive
acceleration at the low end with an incredible 300 lb.-ft. of
torque plus enhanced fuel economy at the overdrive 6th gear.

The present generation of the Ford Sport Trac is designed with

The suspension system of today's Ford Sport Trac utilizes
a Short- and Long-Arm (SLA) design up front and a trailing-arm
design at the rear. Both are fully independent and supply an
ideal combination of smooth road performance, agile control and
rugged durability.
Big Towing Capacity
Bring your favorite recreation vehicles along on your next
trek. When properly equipped, a V8-powered Sport Trac 4x2 has a
maximum Class III/IV towing capacity of 7,160 lbs. (7,000 lbs.
with 4x4). The V6-powered Sport Trac is pretty impressive, too,
with a 5,260-lb. rating (4x2) and 5,090 lb. rating (4x4).

2008 Ford Sport Trac provides more airbag protection than
ever. Front and side airbags for the driver and front seat
passenger. And now standard, the Safety Canopy™ system with
side curtain airbags providing protection in a rollover accident
for the front and second-row outboard passengers. In certain side

Large Bed
The cargo bed of the present generation of Ford Sport Trac is
26.7% larger than before, holding 37.5 cu. ft. of gear. Three
storage bins with weather-resistant lids and removable drain
plugs hold smaller items below the cargo bed deck. Add the
optional cargo cage bed extender and you can carry an additional
six cu. ft. of gear.
18" Wheels
Sport Trac Limited comes dressed and ready to conquer with
18" machined aluminum wheels that are fit to handle all
seasons.
Cargo Bed Extender
The optional cargo cage Bed Extender adds an additional 6+ cu.
ft. of storage space. You can use the extender with the tailgate
open, making more room for gear, or use it with the tailgate
closed as an in-bed partitioner. Another handy addition -
optional crossbars (shown) to the standard roof ride sidebars for
even more cargo-carrying versatility.
Tonneau Cover
The optional hard cargo bed tonneau cover helps protect your
cargo from the elements as well as providing added security.

integrated, voice-activated communication and media system. It

Heated Windshield

windshield. The optional heated windshield utilizes micro-thin
tungsten heating elements embedded in the glass that can melt

Navigation and Reverse Sensing Systems
The available DVD-based Navigation System is a must-have for
people on the go. Equipped with intersection programming, the
system calls out approaching street names. Another helpful
feature is the optional Reverse Sensing System that detects and
then alerts you to objects up to 6 ft. behind you when you're
slowly backing up.
Driver Door Key Pad
No more need to fumble for your keys in your pocket or purse
to unlock your vehicle. Standard in Sport Trac Limited and
optional in the XLT model is a driver door-mounted keypad. Just
