Restyled Exterior
The new 2008 Ford Focus is sleeker and has a more solid,
muscular stance. A front fender appliqué, integrated just
behind the front wheel, a higher beltline, flared wheel arches,
chrome horizontal 2-bar grille with integrated headlamps, sharp
character lines running from the front fenders to the sculpted
rear deck -- distinctive styling cues such as these are what make
the 2008 Focus a dynamically bold statement of what Ford styling
is all about today.
Two Body Styles
2008 Focus comes in two bodystyles: a sporty 2-door coupe and
a 4-door sedan. Focus styling for 2008 is bolder and more
exciting than ever. And on the practical side, of course, both
coupe and sedan have 60/40 rear fold-down seat backs for carrying
long items that wouldn't fit in a conventional trunk.
Deluxe SE Package
Choose the Focus SE and add the available Deluxe Package with
its many style, convenience and performance features: Bright
exterior accents including mirror skull caps, door handles and
exhaust tips. Fog lamps. Bright accents inside as well, plus a
cool-looking metallic instrument panel appliqué, chrome
register accents and chrome rings around the performance
instrument cluster. 4-way adjustable driver's seat. Also in
the package is the enhanced European-inspired suspension with
sport-tuned components including front and rear stabilizer bars,
all riding on 16" Euroflanged alloy wheels.
All-New Interior
There's so much to enjoy inside the new 2008 Focus.
It's finished with materials carefully selected to create a
more upscale, open and inviting atmosphere. The ergonomic
"top-of-dash" display puts important information at eye
level, keeping your eyes on the road. The center console is
larger and there's extra space in front for storage. Newly
designed door panels have larger storage bins. And there's an
expanded list of options, including Ford's exclusive
SYNC™ system, SIRIUS® satellite radio, Ambient
Lighting, and many more.

2.0L Duratec Engine
The 2.0L Duratec 20 I-4 is engineered with dual overhead cams
activating four valves per cylinder. For 2008 this powerplant
features new air intake system, cooling and exhaust systems
designed to improve smoothness, responsiveness and efficiency.
You can go a long way with its maximum EPA-estimated 35 Hwy
rating.* There's also the Duratec 20E offered in states that
adopt California emissions standards, qualifying Focus as a
Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (PZEV). With both Duratec 2.0L
versions a 5-speed manual is standard, with a 4-speed automatic
available as an option.

Engineers have given the new 2008 Focus a stiffer body
structure than before, which allows for retuned suspension
components to sharpen steering and handling characteristics while
at the same time providing ride quality. This combination of
stiff body structure and retuned suspension results in a feel of
the road that is solid and also comfortable.
SES
Enjoy the responsiveness and efficiency of the Duratec 2.0L
DOHC, 16-valve I-4 engine along with the tight road-gripping
manners of the enhanced European-inspired suspension with
sport-tuned stabilizer bars and performance tires mounted on
16" aluminum alloy wheels. Let's also note the

exclusive SYNC™ integrated communications and entertainment

Technology
Available SYNC™ System
The 2008 Ford Focus is now available with SYNC™, an
integrated, voice-activated communication and media system. You
can access your music collection by genre, album, artist or song
title and operate your Bluetooth® phone with simple voice

New Ambient Light Option
2008 Focus SE and SES models offer an optional
color-configurable interior ambient lighting system. It lets the
driver or front seat passenger change the color of light in the
front and rear footwells and in the front and rear center console
cupholders. Choose from a palette of seven colors (Red, Blue,
Purple, Green, Aqua, White and Yellow) to change your mood.
Standard CD/MP3 Player
High-performance stereo sound in Ford Focus begins with an
AM/FM system with an MP3-capable single-disc CD player, four
speakers and audio input jack - standard on all models. A 6-disc
in-dash CD changer is an option on Focus SE and SES. So is the
Audiophile® System. It features an MP3-capable in-dash 6-disc
CD player, four coaxial speakers and 8" subwoofer. And
SIRIUS® satellite radio with complimentary 6-month
subscription - that's a great option, too, available on all

Safety
Complete Airbag Coverage
When it comes to passive safety protection, Ford Focus has you
well covered. In addition to the dual-stage driver and front seat
passenger airbags, every 2008 Focus comes with standard front
seat-mounted side airbags as well as 1st- and 2nd-row side
curtain airbags. That's a total of six airbags to enhance
protection in certain front or side impacts.Always wear your
safety belt and secure children in the rear seat.
Enhanced Braking
Among the many improvements they made to the 2008 Focus
chassis, engineers gave the brake system new aluminum calipers
and specified 10.8-inch vented discs up front and 8.0-inch drums
in the rear. The smooth and straight stopping action of Anti-lock
Brakes with Traction Control is available as an option on all
models.
