Available Automatic Transmission
So you never learned to drive a stick. Well, that doesn't
mean you can't get your hands on a Mustang. The 5-speed
automatic is an available option on all models.
4.6L 24V SOHC V8
In the long tradition of muscular Ford Mustang V8s, the 4.6L
SOHC V8 engine under the bold hood of the Mustang GT features
free-breathing 3 valves-per-cylinder and advanced variable cam
timing. It cranks out 300 wild horses and 320 lbs.-ft. of raw
low-end torque for awesome acceleration from a standing start. Go
with the slick standard 5-speed stick or available 5-speed
automatic.
The Mustang Grille
There's no mistaking the car that sports this unique
grille. Aggressive. Forward-leaning. Jeweled-round headlamps. For
those who are into driving and know what real sports styling is,
it's none other than the Ford Mustang.
High Intensity Discharge headlamps
High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlamps provide a brighter,
whiter light than conventional halogen bulbs for enhanced
visibility. They're also more durable than filament bulbs.
HID headlamps are a new option available on all Ford Mustangs for
2008.
Dual Exhausts
These 2.5" dual exhaust pipes are mandrel-bent to
maintain inside diameter -- ensuring proper air flow and, of
course, that V8 growl.
18" polished-aluminum wheels
These 18" polished-aluminum wheels have a tri-bar pony
center cap and are only available on Mustang GT.
optional Premier Trim with Color Accent Package
The optional Premier Trim with Color Accent Package includes
sport leather-trimmed buckets, bright and satin aluminum accents,
and a leather-stitched instrument panel brow for starters. Shown
here in Chamois. Available on V6 Premium, GT Deluxe and GT
Premium.
MyColor™ Instrument Lighting
An industry first, the MyColor™ instrument-panel
lighting offers you a choice 125 color combinations. Available in
the Interior Upgrade Package for Mustang V6 and GT models.
Interior Upgrade Package
Besides leather-trimmed seats, the Interior Upgrade Package
adds bright accents to the Mustang V6 or GT interior. Like a
polished six gauge instrument panel, for instance. It also
includes the unique Mustang MyColor™ instrument panel
lighting.
Performance
MacPherson strut front suspension
The coil-over MacPherson strut front suspension with reverse
"L" lower arms redefines precision handling and
responsiveness without sacrificing ride quality.
Rear Suspension
Want off-the-line performance and handling? Just call on the
Mustang engineers. They've developed a three-link, solid-axle
rear suspension with outboard-mounted shocks and a Panhard rod to
do just that.
Performance -Drive Chassis
You may not know this, but in its inaugural season, the
Mustang race car won the Grand-Am Cup. And guess where about 80%
of its underpinnings came from? That's right, the Mustang
GT.
Available DVD-Based Navigation System
This available Navigation System combines DVD mapping with
Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. It features a
6.5" color LCD screen with high-quality graphics, voice
route guidance feature, plus touch-screen simplicity for ease of
use.
Available 500-Watt Shaker Audio System
The Shaker 500 includes two door-mounted subwoofers, eight
speakers and a six-disc, in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability.
This 500-watt system is standard on Premium models and optional
on all others.
Available 1000-Watt Shaker Audio System
The optional 1,000-watt Shaker Audio System includes 10
premium Audiophile® speakers with four subwoofers -- two
door-mounted and dual 500-watt thumper in the trunk -- and a
six-disc, in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability.
Optional SIRIUS® Satellite Radio
The available factory-installed SIRIUS® satellite radio
comes pre-activated and ready to play with over 130 channels of
digital-quality commercial-free music, talk, news and sports.
